Every summer seems to bring a new aesthetic. This year, it's "vacation-core" — a mood defined by sun-soaked coastlines, relaxed dressing, ocean blues, citrus groves, and the feeling of escaping everyday routines, even if only for a moment.

While the trend first gained momentum across travel, fashion, and lifestyle content, it is increasingly shaping the world of fragrance. Consumers today are looking beyond scent profiles alone. They want fragrances that evoke a feeling, a destination, or a memory. In many ways, perfume has become one of the most accessible forms of escapism.

This shift is driving the popularity of citrus-forward, marine-inspired fragrances that capture the spirit of summer holidays. Rather than simply smelling fresh, these scents are designed to transport the wearer to a place; whether that's a Mediterranean coastline, a beachside sunset, or a carefree afternoon by the sea.

SKINN's latest launch, Amalfi Riviera, reflects this growing trend. Inspired by Mediterranean summers, the fragrance draws on the imagery of sparkling waters, citrus-lined shores, and effortless coastal living. The scent extends SKINN's Amalfi franchise while introducing a brighter citrus-marine interpretation designed for today's fragrance consumer.

A key consideration during development was creating a truly unisex fragrance. As consumers increasingly move away from traditional gender boundaries in fragrance, the challenge was to craft a scent that felt equally authentic and appealing across audiences while maintaining a distinctive identity.

The launch also reflects a broader shift in fragrance marketing, where brands are building worlds and experiences around scents rather than focusing solely on ingredients. From coastal-inspired visuals and destination storytelling to lifestyle-led campaigns, fragrance is increasingly being positioned as a gateway to a particular mood and mindset.

With this launch, we are not only extending a successful franchise but also responding to a clear shift in consumer preference towards fresher, more expressive, and unisex fragrances. Amalfi Riviera is our interpretation of a modern summer fresh—inclusive and full of possibilities."

Ultimately, the appeal of vacation-core lies in its promise of escape. And in a world where consumers increasingly seek experiences over possessions, fragrance has become a powerful way to carry a little bit of that holiday feeling into everyday life.
