Titan Vanam Heralds a Greener Tomorrow

On World Earth Day, Titan Company Limited launched Titan Vanam, a 45-acre afforestation project in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, planting over 208,000 saplings to restore degraded tropical thorn forest and promote sustainability.

On 5 June 2025, India’s most trusted jewellery house, Tanishq, joined a distinguished group of global changemakers as an honouree at the Diamonds Do Good Awards in Las Vegas. The recognition celebrates the brand’s commitment to using the power of diamonds to uplift people and planet - an ethos deeply rooted in the Tata Group legacy.

Accepting the award on behalf of Titan Company Limited, Ajoy Chawla, CEO – Jewellery Division, paid tribute to founder-philanthropist Jamsetji Tata’s belief that “the community is not just another stakeholder in business but is in fact the very purpose of its existence.” He reaffirmed that Tanishq “will play our part - both as a responsible member of this industry and as part of the Tata Group, which has always placed purpose and community before profit.”

That purpose is evident in every facet of the brand. Tanishq diamonds are sourced through the Kimberley Process and Titan’s stringent Supplier Engagement Protocol, ensuring complete transparency, traceability and freedom from conflict or lab-grown contamination. Its artisan-led manufacturing ecosystem has been transformed by Titan Karigar Parks, which offer safe, pollution-free workspaces, fair wages, healthcare and lifelong upskilling to thousands of craftspeople.

Sustainability drives product and process alike. Forty percent of the gold Tanishq uses is recycled through its Exchange Programme, and the newly launched ESG roadmap, Pragati, commits the jewellery division to carbon neutrality and water positivity by 2027 - three years ahead of Titan’s company-wide 2030 goal.

Chawla closed his remarks with a reminder that guides Tanishq’s journey: “Being good is more important than being great.” As the brand receives the Diamonds Do Good honour, it renews its pledge to create jewellery that shines not only for the wearer, but for every life and landscape it touches.
